Translucent Globe Installation by the Iconic Chao Phraya River

Bangkok Meridian is an an art sculpture installation created to represent time: the new era of 2020, through Bangkok, the city which never sleeps.

The artwork created to coincide with the Grand Opening of Bangkok Design Week on 02.02.02, produced by ROM DESIGN in collaboration with Merge Collective, fuses together art and technology through interactive lighting and sound design projected around the 3-meter translucent globe sculpture.

The name of the work is derived from latin term meridies, which means both “midday” and “south” in order to represent both daytime and night time of Bangkok, the city which is generically known to people as ‘the city which never sleeps’.
