GONGKAN

Pop Artist Exhibition in Seoul

Gongkan’s first exhibition in Seoul at Tang Contemporary is a celebration of Gongkan’s work embracing emotional journey and discover the power of embracing your true self through ‘Public but Private’.

“The theme of ‘Public but Private’ speaks to the idea that society often discourages individuals from expressing their innermost feelings, particularly those that are considered weak or vulnerable. In a world where social media is dominated by images of happiness and success, it can be difficult for individuals to find a space where they can truly express their pain and sorrow.”

ROM DESIGN helped to elevate the event further from guest invitations to visual PR work, for Gongkan’s first debut in South Korea.

We directing Photography and Key Visual for the Artist to use imagery for local and international press and PR, as well as photos at the exhibition, captured through the works and various guests who attended the special opening.

The both event photography and art direction focuses the concept of clean and minimalism, bringing the best out from Gongkan’s artwork in modern hues. This gives the work dream-like imagery with futurism feel, resulting in visuals that is timeless, yet communicate the sense of avant-garde modern pop, taking the artist work to the next level.

The exhibition gained various attention from art circles and international media from Marie Claire Korea to Dazed Korea.
